Soft, Deep and Cosy

Few things make a home feel cosier than a deep shaggy rug, and the California aubergine purple shaggy rug does it beautifully with a rich aubergine purple with a luxurious, plum-toned depth. The 50mm pile is thick, plush and lovely to sink your toes into.

Where It Works

Lay it in front of the sofa to define a seating area, beside the bed for a soft first step in the morning, or along a hallway as a runner. It also works nicely in a study, dining room or reading corner.

A Size for Every Space

With rectangles from 60 x 110cm to 240 x 330cm, a 60 x 230cm runner and 120cm or 150cm circles, there is a size for every space, from a bedside or bathroom to a large living room.

Made to Last

It is machine made from 100% polypropylene with a dense pile designed for long-lasting wear, even in high traffic areas, and the non-shedding fibres will not leave fluff on your floors. A natural jute hessian backing is suitable for use with underfloor heating, and the deep pile helps absorb footfall noise.

Easy Everyday Care

Stain resistant fibres mean everyday spills can be blotted away with ease, and colourfast dyes help the colour resist fading. Vacuum weekly on a low setting with a suction-only attachment, working in the direction of the fibres, and rotate the rug every few months for even wear.

A Rug with a Story

Chindi is the Hindi word for cotton offcuts, and that is exactly what this rug is made from. Skilled weavers in India handweave reclaimed cotton rags on traditional looms, turning fabric that would otherwise be thrown away into a bright, characterful multicoloured rug. Because each one is made individually, the mix of shades varies from rug to rug, so yours will be completely unique.

Colour and Texture for Every Room

The cheerful striped mix of colours lifts a living room, bedroom, kitchen or hallway and sits beautifully with boho, Scandi, rustic and farmhouse styling. Use a small size by the bed or back door, a long runner in the hallway, or a larger rug under the dining table or in a conservatory.

Practical, Washable Cotton

This is a flat woven rug with no pile and no backing, so there is nothing to trap dirt. The whole rug can go in the washing machine on a cool, gentle cycle, which makes it a brilliant choice for homes with children or pets. Double side hemming keeps the edges tidy, and the rug is fully reversible, so you can flip it over to even out wear.

Caring for Your Rug

Machine wash cool on a gentle cycle and air dry flat. Avoid tumble drying and bleach. Colour shades vary slightly between pieces, which is all part of the charm of a handmade rug.

Unroll your rug as soon as possible to help it settle naturally. When first laid out, you may see creases or fold lines—this is completely normal and temporary. Depending on the fold’s tension, it may take a few days to a week to fully flatten. To speed up the process, try the following:

• Gently fold the rug in the opposite direction of the creases.

• Vacuum the rug to help loosen the fibres.

• Place furniture on the rug and walk over it regularly to encourage it to lay flat.

• Reverse the fold of the mat or runner.
• Hoover the surface.
• Place furniture on top and walk over it frequently.
